I hit pause on work and went for a 4-week Japanese language programme in Kyoto. Did it cost a lot? No, I didn't break the bank for this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

After doing some research, I decided to go with ISI Language school as the school offers short-term course starting from 2 weeks. I chose Kyoto campus over Tokyo, Osaka campus as I wanted to explore deeper into this cultural city.

For accommodation, I stayed at the Student House managed by Dormy. I booked a private single room with attached bath and toilet. It was a decent-sized room but there were only 2 power sockets in my room. The UGreen 100W USB C Charger Plug that I bought along allowed charging of my laptop, mobile phone, airpod simultaneously. What really helped was that I could leave the bulky and heavy laptop adaptor at home, saving luggage space and weight!
